About Duplicates

Sometimes more than one record exists for the same person. This can happen, for example, if data carried over from previous databases have not been cleaned up, or if new data are imported and the system is unable to match new and existing records accurately. In such cases, rather than deleting one of the records, Super Users should resolve the duplicates, as this process retains roles and Notes from all of the records involved.

The Resolve Duplicates Wizard, available from the Tools menu, can be used by Super Users to view and resolve any duplicates where the master record belongs to their entity.

Super Users can also mark records belonging to their entity as duplicates of other records, thus allowing a Super User from the other record's Primary entity to resolve the duplicate.

See Viewing and resolving duplicates and Marking records as duplicates.
