Advanced document search options

You can use Advanced Search to search for all types of documents stored in Archie; both the Cochrane specific documents such as entity modules, protocols and reviews; and also files.

The difference between document search and review version search is described under Advanced review version search options.

You can search for documents using the following search fields:

  • Common fields – searches the following record fields: Title and Text

  • Text - the entire text of e.g., a module

  • Title

  • Document Type

  • Entity

 

- Miscellaneous -

  • Publication status

  • Notes - searches title and text of Notes

  • Created

  • Modified

  • Modified By

  • Is Checked Out

  • Person - identifies all documents where the chosen person has any document role

  • Country of Document Role - identifies all documents where a person with the chosen document role is from the chosen country

  • Reference Centre of Document Role - identifies all documents where a person with the chosen document role has the chosen  reference centre

 

The following fields only apply to documents of the Cochrane Review type:

  • Version is Stable

  • Version has Feedback

  • Version has New Citation -   does not include new protocols or reviews (which have an implicit new citation); only those with a New Citation event. There is a separate search term for New.

  • Version First Published - identifies reviews of last published version which were first published in the latest issue.

  • Cited Review -  finds reviews where a queried review is cited.

  • Citing Review - finds reviews that are cited within a given review.

  • Number of Review References- finds reviews based on the total number of Cochrane review references.

- Relative to Selection -

  • Selected Documents - restrict search to previously selected documents.

  • Reviews with Selected Contact Persons - search for reviews based on person selection set.

  • Reviews with Selected Authors - search for reviews based on person selection set.

  • Documents for Selected Notes -  - search for documents based on notes selection set.

  • Tip: The difference between Before and Not after, and between After and Not before, is whether the date itself is included. For example, searching on records created After 1 January 2000 will only find records from 2 January onwards.
